How to Cook Egg
Here's how to cook eggs using two different methods:
- Boiled Eggs
Ingredients:
- Eggs
- Water
Tools:
- Pot
- Timer
Instructions:
- Place the eggs in a pot and add enough water to cover the eggs by about an inch.
- Put the pot on the stove over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Once the water has reached boiling point, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for the desired amount of time (see below).
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the eggs from the pot and place them in a bowl of cold water to cool down.
- Once the eggs have cooled, peel them and they're ready to eat.
Cooking Times:
- Soft-boiled eggs: 4-6 minutes
- Medium-boiled eggs: 7-9 minutes
- Hard-boiled eggs: 10-12 minutes
- Scrambled Eggs
Ingredients:
- Eggs
- Salt and pepper (optional)
- Milk (optional)
- Butter or oil
Tools:
- Bowl
- Whisk or fork
- Non-stick pan or skillet
- Spatula
Instructions:
- Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them together until the yolks and whites are completely combined.
- If desired, season the eggs with salt and pepper and add a splash of milk.
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add a knob of butter or a drizzle of oil.
- Once the butter has melted or the oil is hot, pour the eggs into the pan and let them cook for 10-15 seconds without stirring.
- Use a spatula to gently stir the eggs and continue stirring until the eggs are cooked to your liking.
- Once the eggs are done, transfer them to a plate and serve immediately.
Note: You can also add other ingredients to your scrambled eggs, such as cheese, herbs, or diced vegetables. Simply sauté these ingredients in the pan before adding the whisked eggs.
